Sportradar and EHF extend integrity partnership to 2030
Sports data solutions supplier Sportradar and the European Handball Association (EHF) have extended their integrity partnership in an agreement that will last until 2030.
Under the agreement, Sportradar Integrity Services will provide a range of solutions and services to help safeguard EHL competitions from integrity threats.
The supplier will monitor the events to detect and assess any abnormal betting behaviour using its fraud detection system. Over 10,000 matches are due to be monitored over the course of the agreement.
The partnership will also see Sportradar’s Intelligence and Investigation Services support the EHF’s intelligence programme, which helps investigate integrity threats such as any person who may be targeting EHF events.
In addition, Sportradar will provide teams, players, match officials and delegates, and other key EHF stakeholders with education and prevention workshops.
The workshops are designed to inform participants of potential integrity threats, and how they can promote correct and ethical behaviours and guard against any unlawful activities.
Martin Hausleitner, EHF’s general secretary said: “Sportradar have been a valued and trusted partner of ours over the past three years, and we are pleased to extend our cooperation over the course of this decade.”
“The EHF is committed to protecting the integrity of its flagship club and national team competitions, and by utilizing a multifaceted approach to integrity, we believe that EHF competitions are well safeguarded from the modern-day integrity threats that face our sport.”
Andreas Krannich, managing director of Sportradar Integrity Services added: “We have been proud partners of the EHF since 2018 and are delighted to be extending our integrity agreement over the next decade.”
“Over the past three years of our partnership, we have supported the EHF with a triple-pronged approach of bet monitoring, education and prevention, and intelligence and investigations solutions. With today’s news, our co-operation is signalling a decade-long commitment to integrity in Handball, and as a result, EHF competitions are perfectly positioned to thrive over the next 10 years.”
EHF and Sportradar expanded their existing data, marketing, and digital services partnership in 2018, in a deal which saw Sportradar begin to provide additional services aimed at safeguarding the integrity of EHF’s competitions.
In 2020, the two organisations also entered into a long-term data partnership, under which Sportradar serves as official data partner for both EHF and EHF Marketing, the association’s media division.
