Dutch gambling regulatory body Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has announced that it is to introduce larger fines for illegal online gaming in the country. Current gambling laws stipulate a maximum penalty of €150,000 ($161,400) for unlicensed online operators that target Dutch players. However, under new regulations outlined by the KSA, brands that breach gaming laws in the Netherlands could now face a fine of up to €820,000, depending on the offence. The stricter financial penalties will come into effect from January. Although online gambling is currently illegal in the Netherlands, the country in July
passed a bill to legalise the sectorfor the first time, and regulation could be introduced as early as next year. Related article:Netherlands passes remote gaming bill
