Amaya has announced that it has been granted renewed approval to operate its PokerStars and Full Tilt brands in the US state of New Jersey. The firm initially received a six-month approval to begin operating both brands in the state in September of last year, before moving forward with a full launch last month. On the back of the launch, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) regulatory body now given its renewed approval to Amaya to operate PokerStars and Full Tilt in the state for an additional term of six months. Rafi Ashkenazi, who is serving as interim chief executive at Amaya after David Baazov stepped aside earlier this week, said: “While it's very early, we're extremely pleased with the initial launch of PokerStars in New Jersey and the positive working relationship that Amaya has with the DGE. “I'm very proud of our employees, including those we have hired in New Jersey, who have worked diligently to prepare for the launch of a robust, stable platform backed by great customer service. “We hope to continue our early positive momentum in the market as PokerStars NJ continues to roll out additional marketing and promotions.” Related article: Amaya chief Baazov to take voluntary leave of absence
