iGB Live! and iGB Affiliate registrations jump 40% after quarantine lift

Clarion Gaming, the organisers of iGB Live! and iGB Affiliate Amsterdam, has announced that registrations to the joint events rose 40% week-on-week after the Dutch Government lifted quarantine restrictions.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s cabinet confirmed that travellers who have received their novel coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccinations would not need to quarantine upon arrival to the Netherlands.

This applies even if travellers have recently visited a country with high levels of Covid-19 cases.

“We had already secured a business exemption to the quarantine regulations for iGB Live!/iGB Affiliate visitors, but this news really makes it a very simple process for all of our stakeholders to attend what will be the first in-person gaming industry event since ICE London was held in February 202 0,” said Naomi Barton, portfolio director for Clarion Gaming.

In addition, the Dutch government confirmed that the 1.5 metre social distancing rule will not be enforced, and will instead be replaced with Coronavirus Access Passes.

Barton emphasised that attendees who are not fully vaccinated are also able to enter the Netherlands, provided they adhere to certain conditions.

“Those travellers who are not fully-vaccinated are also welcome to travel to Amsterdam, providing they have proof of a negative Covid test and an invitation letter that we will provide them with," continued Barton.

“They can then test for free at the RAI before entering iGB Live!, with the results delivered in 15 minutes. iGB Live! really is back!”

These new regulations will come into effect on 22 September, ahead of the shows starting from 28 September, running to 1 October.

Earlier this week, Clarion Gaming announced that 78% of iGB Live! and iGB Affiliate Amsterdam attendees will be decision-makers within their respective organisations.
