Isle of Man unveils new software supplier licence
The Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC) has launched a new software supplier licence with the aim of streamlining the application process for gambling businesses.
The Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC) has launched a new B2B software supplier licence with the aim of streamlining the application process for gambling businesses. The licence is not mandatory to supply gambling software to operators licensed in the Isle of Man, but the GSC said it offers a number of benefits to holders. As part of the licensing process, the GSC will test and certify all of the applicant’s games, meaning that such content will not be subject to or require any additional testing before being approved for use by Isle of Man licensees. The GSC also said the new licence will help to open up new opportunities to work with licensed operators in other markets around the world. Tony Ure, head of eGaming Isle of Man, part of the government-run Digital Executive Agency, told
iGamingBusiness.comthat due to the time and effort the licence will save operators in terms of having their games certified, this will help holders save on associated costs. “The new licence has been created to help streamline the processes for businesses by reducing the layers of compliance required as well as provide potential cost savings,” Ure said. “For E-Gaming Isle of Man, this new licence shows our continued proactive response to such a dynamic and fast-paced industry. “We also believe it will boost our appeal more widely – setting us apart from other jurisdictions once again for our exceptional levels of regulatory quality and innovation.” Mark Rutherford, deputy CEO of the GSC, added in a statement: “Software licensing is actually the most efficient way of achieving what we wanted and provides for greater efficiency in game deployment, lower costs and a shorter time-to-market for our existing operators.” Applications for the new B2B software supplier licence are now open.Image: Stephen McKay
