Playtech’s senior regulatory affairs and compliance manager Richard Bayliss believes it is crucial that B2B businesses are involved in cross-sector efforts to make gambling safer for customers, embedding player protection culture and training into the solutions it develops.
The solutions giant was the first to secure GamCare’s new B2B safer gambling standard in July this year, and is continuing with work to involve a greater range of non-industry bodies in harm prevention efforts.
This includes a role in GamCare’s gambling-related financial harms project, which brings together financial services, the debt advice sector, treatment providers and industry operators to develop a toolkit that helps those suffering from gambling-related harm.
It ultimately aims to raise awareness among non-gambling businesses about signs of harm, to ensure support can be offered at different points rather than only through the industry.
