A restructuring of Clarion Gaming’s senior management team has seen Alex Pratt named group managing director, with Stuart Hunter moving into the role of managing director.

Pratt joined Clarion following its acquisition of iGaming Business, since rebranded as iGB, and the iGB Affiliate event series in 2016.

He previously served as managing director of the publishing portfolio for the business.

Hunter, meanwhile, steps up from the role of managing director of gaming events, with oversight for all Clarion Gaming products and brands in his new position.

“I’m delighted to confirm Stuart Hunter’s appointment as Managing Director for Clarion Gaming,” Pratt commented. “Stuart has enjoyed a long and successful career joining Clarion in 2006 and working across the portfolio of events including retail, travel and leisure prior to joining the Gaming team as Managing Director (Events).

Hunter said his priority was to accelerate Clarion Gaming’s development into “an integrated, customer-first, omni-channel service provider which has live events as one of its key foundation stones”.

“The overarching objective is to help the global gaming industry rise to the challenges presented by the ‘new normal’ and to exit the pandemic in the best possible shape,” he explained.

“It goes without saying that these are extremely difficult and challenging times for many people employed in the international gaming industry. The Clarion Gaming brands, comprising both live and digital services, have been able to grow and be successful due to the tremendous on-going support shown by our international customers working across all verticals.

“As a division, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the industry and recognise the extreme difficulties certain sectors have and continue to experience,” Hunter added. “It’s my pledge to ensure the global gaming industry is supported, engaged and consulted in relation to the future direction and opportunities created by the team at Clarion Gaming and I am always available to discuss any issues impacting our customers that we can help with.”

The appointments follow the departure of Kate Chambers, Clarion Gaming’s previous managing director, who transitioned to a consulting role focused on the land-based gaming industry.

Chambers has now ended her consultancy duties, to pursue new opportunities across the sector.

“As a business we recognise the really significant contribution Kate has made to the Clarion Gaming portfolio and in particular to the development of ICE London into the world’s most influential business-to-business gaming expo,” Pratt said.

“She will be missed and we wish her the very best in the next chapter of her career.”
