Golden Race receives certification to launch in South Africa
Virtual sports and betting supplier, Golden Race, has received certification as a wagering B2B provider in South Africa for its online solution V4.
With the certification, issued by Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) Africa, Golden Race is now able to offer its online products and solutions in the jurisdiction, the largest in Africa.
The supplier said it is the leader in virtual sports in jurisdictions such as Nigeria and Kenya, where it boasts 8 out of 10 virtual bets are placed through its products.
It virtual products include 3D virtual football, virtual keno, 3D horse racing and 24/7 live games.
The supplier’s V4 online solution provides an extended games portfolio and other updates to its features such as a new back-office, it said.
Golden Race experienced significant expansion throughout 2020. Following the onset of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the supplier said it had signed agreements with 100 new operators during the first three weeks of the crisis.
Online gaming, except sports betting, remains prohibited in South Africa, with the jurisdiction’s National Gaming Board issuing a warning to operators in September reminding them that sports wagering is the only permitted form of igaming in the nation. Virtual sports betting is considered a legal form of sports betting, however.
